Bloodlust: Santa Monica (Definitive Edition) Walkthrough

Bloodlust: Santa Monica (Definitive Edition) is a point & click adventure demake of Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines. This walkthrough is structured by quests, so you can find the solution to the puzzle blocking your progress without revealing other content. The game is still in development so don't hesitate to give some feedback. Thanks for playing!

2. Walkthrough

First Steps & Every Dog Has Its Night

After the introductory cutscene, you're sent to Apartment 101 in Santa Monica. Jack guards the hallway door until you read the handwritten note left by Delacroix on your desk. After reading it, you're free to explore Santa Monica on your own. First, visit Mercurius at the Santa Monica Suites on Main Street. Outside, you'll find a big dog tied to a streetlight. Visit Trip’s Pawnshop and politely ask for the big metal scissors on the counter. Use the scissors to cut the dog's leash. The dog needs some meaty incentive to go away. Go to the bailbonds and take the raw steak from the fridge, go back to the dog and throw it so you can enter the building and speak to Mercurius in the room to the right.

A Is For Astrolite

Mercurius asks you to retrieve astrolite from a house near Santa Monica beach. Go back to apartment 101 and pick up the money clip, then head to the parking lot and deal with Alpha's toll. Give him the money clip or use your Bribe skill to convince him. Once he lets you through, make your way to the beach and enter the beach house exterior to grab a gardening shovel. Outside, inspect the bush to reveal a hidden power switch, then flip it to cut the lights off. Return to the beach and dig through the sand mountain using the shovel to uncover a set of surfer keys. Go to the beach house exterior, unlock the van with the surfer keys, and open it to find a crowbar. Use it to pry open the loose fence. Inside the beach house, talk to Dennis to get the astrolite. 

Head to second street and search the trash near the bailbonds to find a dirty karate belt. At the bailbonds office, check the crates to pick up a washing detergent. Return to the beach house throw in the washing machine both the belt and the detergent, then turn it on to slide the machine aside. In the apartment hallway, use the crowbar on the loose step to uncover a hidden toolbox. Dig into the nearby plant with the shovel to find a small key, and use it to open the toolbox and get a screwdriver. Back in the beach house, use the screwdriver to open the air vent and collect the bag of money stashed inside. Finally, bring both the astrolite and the money bag to Mercurius in his suite.

The Pain of Being Mercurius

After your first meeting, Mercurius requests painkillers. In Apartment 102 (see quest: To Serve and To Protect), grab the empty bottle of painkillers from the bathroom cabinet. Go to the hospital clinic and swap it with a full bottle from the tray. Alternatively, you can steal the full bottle. Return the painkillers to Mercurius.

Time Is Golden

Trip asks you to get rid of Miss Webster, an old lady who won't leave his shop. When you talk to her, she mentions she's looking for her late husband's golden watch. Take a cheap watch from Apartment 101 and paint it gold using the yellow paint bucket from the parking lot. Return to Trip for a top hat as a reward.

Drug Trip

Trip asks you for weed for his special cigarettes. There's a jar of weed inside a cabinet in the beach house. Bring it to Trip in exchange for a reward.

To Serve and To Protect

Officer Carter at the apartment hallway asks for something to wake him up. Go to the beach house interior and pick up an empty coffee thermos. Take it back to the bailbonds office and fill it using the coffee machine. Then, deliver the fresh coffee to Officer Carter.

Officer Chunk asks for something to eat. Start on main street and search through the trash container to find a broken hairdryer. Then swing by the bailbonds office and pick up a box of donuts lying around. Next, head over to the beach house interior and grab a tub of light yogurt. Make your way into the Madhouse office (see quest: The Vampire's Kiss) and check under the pillow to uncover a dildo. Use your screwdriver to pry it open and retrieve the battery inside. Pop that battery into the broken hairdryer to get it working again. Now, blast the light yogurt with the hairdryer to make the light label fall off. Slap that label onto the box of donuts, turning them into a box of “light” donuts. Bring your suspiciously rebranded donuts to Officer Chunk. 

A Friend in Need

Claire asks you to get rid of Dennis, her pimp. You can take Kev’s baseball bat from the beach house or the katana from Carlton’s suite to threaten Dennis. Alternatively persuade, intimidate, or bribe Dennis. Once Dennis is taken care of, report back to Claire.

Cumulative Art + Red Herring

Homeless Doug needs three bottles of vodka, which can be found: in Mercurius' suite, in the fridge at the bailbonds office, at the Madhouse Club. Beg or steal it from the bartender. Bring all three bottles to Doug on Main Street. You'll get a red herring.

Trip at the pawnshop wants a rare item called red herring. Give the fish to Trip and you'll get some incognito glasses.

A Midnight Ride

Bullock needs a 9/16 wrench and a can of gas. You'll find a flyer for Plumber Bros in the bailbonds office. To call them, gather some coins from the arcade machine at the Madhouse (you can use a crowbar or kick it). Use the public phone at the Diner to call the Plumber Bros, and collect a 9/16 wrench from their van on Main Street. To get the can of gas, find an empty can in apartment 102. Get a plastic tube from the trunk of the red car and a funnel digging the plant in the hospital. Combine them to get a plastic tube with funnel to siphon gas from the van near the beach house. Return both the wrench and gas to Bullock.

Gone With The Dawn

Elliot asks you to find his girlfriend, Lilly. Speak with Doris at the Diner to receive Lilly’s photo and car keys. Go to the parking lot and use the keys to open the red car trunk, or use lockpicking or a kick. Inside the trunk, you’ll find Lilly's diary. Return the diary and the photo to Elliot.

Food For Thought

Cooper asks you to find three philosophy books. You can find them: in Santa Monica Suites. Give Roberta the bleach from Apartment 101 to clean the bloodstain, and she'll give you the book. In Carlton's suite (see quest: Missing In Action). Use a crowbar, lockpicking, or kick to open the chest. In the Madhouse office, near Juliette’s bed there's the last philosophy book. 

A Problem To Come

Rose wants you to get rid of Father Joachim, an exorcist sent by the Vatican. Go to the Diner and talk to him. Then, go to Apartment 102 to retrieve an old Bible, and get a pamphlet from the Doomsayer on Second Street. Combine the two to create an old diabolical Bible. Give this to Father Joachim, and he will leave the area. Report back to Rose.

All You Need is Blood

Jules, a half-vampire on Santa Monica Beach, asks you to find something to eat and a stake for protection. Give him a blood bag from the fridge in Apartment 101. Give him the stake found in Apartment 102. Once you provide both, Jules will be satisfied.

Missing In Action

Arthur Killpatrick at the bailbonds office asks you to find Carlton, his missing bounty hunter. Head to Santa Monica Suites #1 and discover Carlton’s body. Behind a picture on the wall, there's a safe. You can open it in one of two ways: use a stethoscope from the doctor’s office to listen for the combination. Hack into the laptop in the office to obtain the code.

To enter the doctor’s office, switch the broken remote from Apartment 101 with Jay’s remote at the beach house. Use it to turn off the TV in the hospital clinic, making the patients leave.

Inside the safe, you’ll find Carlton’s note. Take it back to Killpatrick.

The Vampire's Kiss

The bartender at the Madhouse Club asks you to investigate the source of a new drug: the Vampire's Kiss. Talk to the gothic girl to get a sample of the drug. Then, speak to the metal girl, who informs you that the pusher is the Doomsayer outside the club. Confront the Doomsayer and force him to stop dealing the drug by helping him out (see quest: The Devil’s Handiwork). Return to the bartender, and you'll be granted access to the Madhouse office.

The Devil’s Handiwork

The doomsayer at second street wants you to post some satanic propaganda around Santa Monica. Start in Apartment 101 and pick up the glue on the drawer. Head to the parking area and search the security booth to find an old broom. Combine the broom with the glue to create a sticky broom, perfect for sticking the propaganda to the spots. Now, visit each of the key locations: Main Street, Parking, Second Street, the Beach and the Madhouse Club, and look for the clean spots in each area. Use your sticky broom to prep the surface, then slap a satanic poster onto it. Once all five posters are up return to second street and talk to Doomsayer to complete the quest.

The Feud

Mercurius asks you to end the feud between Tess and Bernard Thung. Complete the bartender’s quest at the Madhouse Club to gain access to the office, where both Tess and Juliette will give you tasks. In this quest, you’ll need to navigate between Tess’s and Juliette’s conflicting requests, leading to a decision about siding with one of them or both. Deal with the Voermann dilemma to bring peace between Tess and Bernard so they call off the feud. Then you can find Bernard Thung in his silo on second street.

Slash In The Dark

Juliette at the Madhouse office requests that you slash all the paintings in the Noir Gallery. You can enter the gallery by combining the top hat and the incognito glasses into a billionaire disguise. Use the disguise to make Mr. D letting you in the gallery. Once inside, get rid of the guests by tampering with the catering food. You can spike it with laxatives from the doctor's office. After the guests leave, use a knife (from the cook at the Diner) to slash the paintings. Don't forget to grab the charity box on your way out. Report back to Juliette.

Ashes to Ashes

Tess at the Madhouse office asks you to remove supernatural evidence from Apartment 102. Inside, take the stake from the dead body. Move the ashtray on the desk to reveal a tiny key that unlocks the bottom drawer, where you'll find Marian's diary. Alternatively, you can lockpick the drawer. Return the diary to Tess.

The Voermann Dilemma

After completing both Slash In The Dark and Ashes to Ashes, Juliette and Tess will confront you with a decision. You must choose to either side with Juliette, Tess, or attempt to reconcile them both.

Missing Data

Bernard Thung asks you to retrieve a CD-ROM with sensitive data that has been stolen. The CD-ROM is located in the safe in Carlton’s suite (see quest: Missing in Action). Once you retrieve the CD-ROM, return it to Bernard.

Hack & Slash

After returning the CD-ROM, Bernard Thung requests that you hack all the computers in Santa Monica. You can either hack the computers yourself or find clues to guess the passwords. Once you’ve obtained all the passwords, return to Thung’s silo, input the stolen passwords into his computer, and reinstall the spyware. Report back to Thung for your reward.

Never Learning Too Much

Jack is looking for skill books to help with various abilities. Here’s where to find them:
