Version 1.5.1 of Bloodlust: Santa Monica (Definitive Edition)  is finally live in all platforms (Itch.io, Newgrounds and Indiexpo). The new versio includes some bug fixes and puzzle changes to keep your brains working. Let’s dive into what’s new and what’s still cooking in the shadows.

🧩 Main Quest Puzzles

You asked for a challenge? You got it. I've received a general feedback about the puzzle difficulty being too easy, since you can use your vampire skills to avoid some puzzles. This non-linearity has a negative side effect since whenever you bypass a puzzle the items involved become clutter in your inventory. The bulk of this update focuses on redesigning the main quest puzzles to crank up the difficulty and force you to actually use all that inventory items you’ve been hoarding. No more hand-holding or simple puzzles where you stumble on the solution before realizing there's a puzzle to solve. Now, all main quest puzzle solutions now require multiple item interactions and a bit of backtracking between the different locations of Santa Monica.

😵 Matt’s Whispering Voices

Our favorite Malkavian vampire is losing it harder than ever. Version 1.5.1 dials up his madness with lots of lunatic interactions. Almost in every room there's something special that only Matt can realize. Want to talk to that jukebox? How about a stop sign? You know the drill. In addition, now there're whispering voices in your ear every time reality fades and you gaze into the abyss of madness. Headphones are highly recommended.
